Decor trends for young men

A new generation of people, specifically young men are on the hunt for apartments and housing. In all honesty, a lot of this applies to anyone that is looking to personalize their own space. As more and more young men look to create a space that fits their aesthetic, creating an ideal space at times heavily relies on what’s new and trending. We see that nude colors, natural light, and stainless steel appliances have been staples for a long time but specifically, what creates that sleek breathtaking feeling of making a masculine space?

1.Industrial Style Decor

A trend that sounds like what it is, industrial style imitates a factory, old brick buildings, and warehouses. Many of these older buildings have purposely been repurposed as restaurants and apartments because of this new decor appeal. This style uses lots of exposed brick, wood, and metal. Using lots of darker hues such as black, brown, and gray in the furniture and decor. It has become an aesthetic of its own as many who are searching for places to live seek out loft apartments that are already in this style.

2. Vintage or Retro Decor

A similar theme of styling a space in ways of old, vintage decor creates a following of its own. Vintage can be a way of life. From clothing stores to home decor, many people have fallen in love with every aspect of vintage living. Similar to clothing, vintage decor focuses on soft color pallets and distressed looking items. The furniture and decor may be antique and are supposed to resemble eras twenty years ago or more. This doesn’t mean all of the items are that old but they are just meant to look as such.

3. Minimalist Decor

Minimalist decor is honestly some of the most popular forms of decoration and has been for some time now. The focus is in the name as people who enjoy this design style want to limit the overall amount of decor styles as much as possible. Using soft natural colors, emphasizing space, and functional furniture; this style can best be described as plain but at the same time speaks volumes in its simplicity.

4. Smart Home Technology

Smart home technology may not seem like a decor style but trust me it is going to be the way of the world. This is directed towards having cool trinkets in the house that help you do the little things. Common uses or products are smart home lighting and voice assistants. From clapping your hands to turn lights on and off to telling Alexa to play your favorite song, the use of automation in your space just makes life easier on you!

5. Art and more Art!

The fifth and final decor trend is art. I cannot stress this enough that art makes all the difference in the world when designing your space. The types of art are endless and there is a type for every style of decor. Not only does it help decorate your walls but it can literally be an expression of your personality. It’s the same thing as when young boys get their hands on their first fast car posters and hang them up after school. The posters may evolve into something different but adding some form of art seems small but will do so much for your home.
